There are a number of issues.
* I think you can ignore these messages - I undefined the variables on
my system and mplayer still worked.
1100: Cannot find HOME directory.
1101: Terminal type `unknown' is not defined.
* The URL
rtsp://a458.l773120493.c7731.e.lr.akamaistream.net/live/D/458/7731/v0001/reflector:20493
does not work for me - I get the same error message as you just within
more messages (I turned off really-quiet)

- make sure URL work on PC mplayer before trying on DS-106. You can
use Radio Tune in and paste in the following URL for testing.

* To see if mplayer is really working ok - you can send output to a
file (example below test.wav) - then copy WAV file back to PC and
play.
