I'm not.100% sure that is true but as I bought a licence very early on you could very well be right. However the max2play product has paid back that licence fee in spades thanks to the ease of use. Google music plugin. Equaliser for my hifiberry amp+...actually everything to do with the hifiberry integration which has been almost completely done for me is great....and .... development is on going.
