Not really, but I have one JBL airplay speaker that has a problem with AirPlay volume has well and when changing the volume using normal airplay commands, quite often it stops playing, that's the reason why I build this volume options of "soft volume" or volume only at start. Now I'm sure this speaker is buggy because it does exactly the same when controlled by iTunes, so it's obviously not my bridge.
