So far, all the shairport derivatives I've seen require encryption. Do
you have any other airplay device to try? If you have a Windows machine,
can you try ShairportW? I'd like to be sure that the issue is not with
the bridge/NAS piece itself. What I see is that the GGMM does not like
the metadata I'm sending and closes the connection which is re-opened
automatically but this time no metadata is sent but you have no sound.
When you do not send metadata, the connection holds normally but you
still have no sound. It does not mean at all that metadata are the
issue, as usual correlation is not cause :). AFAIK, metadata are not
required, but maybe the GGMM implementation require them, I don't know.
At this point, if you want to continue, we'll have to have a reference
environment and exclude potential causes one by one, hence my request of
trying with ShairPortW or another ShairPort or another AirPlay device.
I've also re-check my metadata packet format compared to iTunes and
could not find an issue. I do not send as many as iTunes, by I think I
do send the required ones and the packet seems to be well formated
