Kudos for your persistence in trying to get the GGMM working! FYI - the only route I got which worked with the GGMM E3 was using TuneBlade on PC windows (I don't have any apple devices, like you, to test). TuneBlade has a debug mode which might help to discover what is going on.
I raised the problem with GGMM but never got any useful ifo from them. Good luck.
