You know, somehow it seems to be impossible to get that thinking out of people's head that tinkering with their setup would somehow improve sound quality. It was mostly wrong back in the analog days ans it's even more so now in the digital domain.
You know, that default setting to stream using FLAC is not there to somehow give you worse sound quality, it's there because it's simply the option that works best. > > Just one other question. Before starting the stream it sets the appropriate setting depending on whether you are connected through WiFi or cellular. You have to set them both, the defaults are to use 128kbps over cellular (Apple's recommendation, used to be their requirement) and to use no bitrate limiting over WiFi. If you set something manually in the LMS settings this will be overwritten by iPeng when the next track starts. Please note that this only applies if you use cellular on the device you are running iPeng on. If you use connection sharing (e.g. on an iPad connected to an iPhone) through WiFi then iPeng thinks it's on WiFi and will not apply bitrate limiting. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
