I installed the plugin via the additional repositories section in the LMS plugin menu and pointed to http://www.herger.net/slim-plugins. Found the plug in, enabled it but the smart authorisation didn't work so I entered the credentials of my premium account; Apply | Close and restart LMS. The plugin shows up under active in LMS but I don't see it in any Spotify client. What's interesting is when I look at Settings | Advanced | Spotty under the Spotty helper app I get the following ....<path>....Spotty/Bin/i386-linux/spotty (v0.6.1). Why does it say 0.6.1? In the LMS plugins list is says Spotty v1.2.1 so I'm puzzled to see this unless this is not related at all. I'm using LMS 7.8.0. It feels like Spotty doesn't broadcast its presence to the network.
