I think I have discovered a bug with latest iPeng 9.3.2 as a player and a combination of Spotty DSTM & Lastmix. I have 2 instances of iPeng both displaying the same symptoms - an iPhone 6s and an iPod Touch 5 and I am sure they both used to work. Spotify via Spotty works if you select something and play it but if LastMix selects it for you it doesn't play - just skips through Spotify tracks but will play local files. It's not a general LMS issue as all my other players work - SB3, Touch, various Pi's and Jogglers. It could be an incompatibility between the last update of LMS & iPeng but it's only affecting iPeng. My LMS was updated yesterday and I only noticed the problem first last night. I imagine you will be able recreate the issue Pippin. LMS is on Pi3 with piCorePlayer and is Michael's latest release of both LMS & Spotty (and LastMix). Definitely does not apply to other players.
