I quickly received the following reply
"Thanks for reaching out to us. We'd love for you to enjoy the Spotify app without any hiccups, so let's work this out :) We appreciate you sending us the screenshot of the error. It helped a lot. As much as we'd love to help you on our end, but this type of issue you're having seems to be one that Amazon would be better to help you with." Based on that I am not hopeful of a more helpful response when the Squeezebox isn't officially supported by them anymore. It is strange that the latest Spotify app was working for all of us until this issue appeared..
