The machine going to sleep we can rule out since it's an always on
server and it's always instantly there when not using Connect and when
using it for films and watching sports.

Them being on separate networks might have something to do with it. I
have a Logitech harmony Elite with a hub and more often than not when
using the Harmony app to communicate with the hub it says my phone is
not being on the same network as the hub. This is a problem I've had for
a couple of years without ever finding a solution...
