Another thing you could test for me that would be useful. I've done this
other application https://github.com/philippe44/AirConnect that
basically runs bridges between AirPlay and UPnP/Chromecast. The UPnP
version, for every UPnP/DLNA player it finds, create a virtual AirPlay
device. If you have any iXXX controller (including iTunes), could you
try to run it (there are versions for all platforms) and see if it works
on the M1CLic? 

The reason for asking is that audio is being re-encoded using flac so if
the M1 is happy with the header generated here, I will be able to mimic
it. The difference between airupnp and squeeze2unpn is that airupnp uses
the real flac encoder, but squeeze2upnp builds a header "manually", but
the important point is that the header is built and sent before the
whole file is build (which is not the case when you do a full flac
off-line conversion, where the flac converter updates the header once it
is done with encoding), so I will be able to know for sure what works
with the M1
