Maybe two songs is not always true: I listened several hours this morning and only had to restart the server five or six times.
Can you confirm that this is limited to "Connect" mode, eg. controlling your SB using the Spotify app on your mobile phone? Playing back while controlling on the SB itself would work?
You might want to enable INFO logging for plugin.spotty, until it fails again. Then provide another server.log copy.
