In my short experience with the plugin I've found the most reliable
option for the Yamaha CD-N301 to be the simple pass through.

All my music is FLAC ( various bit and sample rates ) but the CD-N301
can consume them all and the bridge can stream them all day without
issue.

I've tried various encoding options, including flow, and whilst most of
them work ok at first, at some point during the day I'll end up
listening to white noise - then a restart of the bridge ( or sometimes
LMS or even the CD-N301 ) is required to get it working again.

I suspect it's as much an issue with the Yamaha as the bridge - but for
me the most stable setup I've found for the CD-N301 is to use pass
through with these settings

Code:
--------------------
    <device>
  <codecs>flc</codecs>
  <enabled>1</enabled>
  <mac>bb:bb:c8:49:23:bb</mac>
  <send_icy>0</send_icy>
  <udn>uuid:5f9ec1b3-ed59-1900-4530-00a0de1b0fff</udn>
  <name>CD-N301 DLNA</name>
  <accept_nexturi>0</accept_nexturi>
  <send_coverart>0</send_coverart>
  <send_metadata>1</send_metadata>
  <sample_rate>192000</sample_rate>
  <forced_mimetypes>audio/flac</forced_mimetypes>
  <friendly_name>CD-N301 BB29B1</friendly_name>
  <volume_feedback>0</volume_feedback>
  <volume_on_play>-1</volume_on_play>
  </device>
--------------------

The Yamaha has digital out connections - so paired with a decent DAC
this makes for a cost effective HiRes ( 24/192 ) streaming solution (
the fact it plays CDs too is a bonus! )
