I have Synology 214se.
Ok, this device seems to be about the lowest spec Synology NAS possible... slow CPU, little memory. I wouldn't be surprised if it run low on memory, causing swapping as you try to change tracks.
I'd suggest you get a Pi, install piCorePlayer and use it to run LMS (reading files from the NAS). It's much more powerful than your NAS.
