I tried again with flac this morning, with the same plugin version. My
24/96000 flacs, encoding as flac, don't play on my M1 CLiC unless i
transcode to some other rate (eg 88200). They do play on my Marantz. A
log is attached of playing to the M1.

I then updated to the new version. The UI is better - thanks. I tried
again. The first time I played a 24/96000 it refused to play on my M1,
again. I then tried transcoding down to 88200, and it played. I then
opened some advanced options, set resample to 96000, and it played. I
then tried many other options (inlcuding source), and each time it
played OK.

I'm totally baffled. feel such a fool, but I don't see what I've done
that could cause this change, which really did happen. I am not
dreaming (am I?). My brain must be somewhere else.
