Interestingly, I have been experiencing the same problem recently with My PiCorePlayer LMS system. Thankfully, I came upon this thread and a reboot fixed it for me, too.
I was seeing other odd behaviour that also resolved itself as soon as I rebooted: The "players" dropdown in LMS initially showed as blank, requiring me to select one of my two players LMS would frequently stop responding and require me to refresh I'm no Unix whiz and so didn't check how far out the clock was before I rebooted. My attempt to avoid this in future was to go to piCorePlayer -> Tweaks -> Schedule CRON jobs, where I added a Custom CRON command, which I *think* should re-sync the time every morning: 1 1 8 * * /usr/bin/getTime.sh Though I like the idea of installing NTP.
