If it works it will avoid "failover" processing and just become a away to add another format (e.g. mp3=") to the iplayer URL whichis then processed as before.
If I create a version which adds JSON playlist validation - it will need a good bit of testing to ensure niches (e.g. local radio which sometimes do not get full functionality implemented by BBC) are not broken.
