If Michael or anyone can help with debugging, here's a few more data
points. Running slimserver 6.5.1 on a debian-based LinkStation HG
(266MHz PPC & 128MB RAM).

Item 1: the contents of slimserver.log after starting slimserver via my
usual startup script. In this case slimserver crashed as soon as I
opened slimip:9000/slimfx/

Item 2: Started via command line, and slimfx worked for a while
(creating playlist, play, skip, pause, etc.), and then crashed
        with Segmentation Fault.

Item 3: I was about to do the CLI commands via telnet that
Michael suggested, but then remembered that I've disabled
telnetd. I tried to get in via "ssh ipa.dd.res.s -p 9090", but
connection was refused. What, if anything, is the equivalent of
"telnet ip 9090" with ssh? (I think I deleted telnetd entirely,
        although I could reinstall.)

Item 4: Like some others, I tried out Fat Gooey the other
night, and that also crashed slimserver. So I'm wondering if it
        is a CLI issue.

Finally, I'll note that although the LinkStation is
underpowered, it has been rock solid running 6.5.x since
August, with no crashes at all.

Any clues are extremely welcome! Thanks.
