It sounds like you have the same setup I do. You get that message when Http get returns 401 - Unauthorized. Be advised that the username is case sensitive for http, but not so for Telnet. Given that you can connect via telnet, but are getting the error on http, then I would suspect username case. Try making sure that the username case matches. Beyond that, I'm not sure what to tell you.
