In your description above, you enabled Password Protection on your LMS. 
You set Username=squeezebox and you set password = <something>.  When
you set username/password in Squeezelite-X, it must match what you set
above.  If it does, it should work.

Now that I am re-reading this again, you do say that LMS web-page access
from a regular browser does work.  By that, do you mean when you open a
browser and navigate to http://<host>:9000, you get prompted for a
username/password, type it in, and that works?

Or are you now saying that you no longer have Password Protection
enabled, but you still get "Not Authorized" message?

I guess, lets start over and explain what you current situation is,
because I think I might be confused.
