I am talking about your Logitech Media Server running on your Pi. I think you are saying when you enabled password protection in the LMS settings as you describe, and then enter the user name and password in SLX, then you get not authorized. In order to determine if SLX is the problem I suggest trying to point your browser to the LMS server and see if you get same response. In other words, if you have password protection enabled on LMS, then, as an experiment, when you go to http://<host>:9000 using your internet browser, you will be prompted for a username and password. If that works, then you can suspect SLX.
