I don't know much about the limitations of Squeezebox Touch operating system bar the fact it is lightweight and limited due to hardware, but still I have to ask - would it be possible to run Spotty plugin on Touch directly using SD card?
No, that's not possible. You already mention the reason: hardware limitations. It barely has enough memory to run a stripped down version of LMS. No web UI, no plugins, no transcoding. Spotty needs all of these features.
