Services run as root, so root should be able to load the config file.
How are your line endings? Sometimes when you copy/paste from a forum
into a file, the unix-friendly <LF> line endings are garbled. WIndows is
<CR><LF> and Mac is just <CR>.

I see you use a pi-zero for LMS. That's a very underpowered machine, so
I'm curious how well it will perform here. Sometimes the skill has to
have several round-trip interactions with the server to perform a single
command. If they're all slow, that should be an interesting experience -
all skills time out after 8 seconds of inactivity, no exceptions. A pi-4
for $30 would make you a much happier camper, methinks. Also, if you
ever do have to reinstall any pi, it's just a matter of swapping back a
prepared SD card so shouldn't be a sweat. Clone your card before doing
something risky and if it fails, swap back the safe card. That's what's
so great about the pi !
