It might not be pointless; Chrome has simply become annoying to me. I
understand the reason for the notification, but it would be nice if
Chrome was "smart" enough to avoid popping up this notification every
time I use search, or if the URL could simply be scrolled off the
screen. 

I am not familiar with kiwi, so I will try that now. Thank you for the
suggestion.
