Installed legacy version 2.4.28 and Squeezelite-X now operating as expected - returned to pre 2.4.24 behaviour. i was on Windows 10 1903 and just upgraded to 1909 so not sure that the DLL was correct for 1803+ versions either. Anyway, all working as expected now so that's all that matters.
