First, thanks for writing and supporting this software!

I'm trying to get spotty installed for the first time. So far it's all
working except for the sound. :-)

I'm running LMS (7.9.2, build from Dec. 28) on a Raspberry Pi (model B)
running Debian / wheezy, and connecting to that server from a Squeezebox
Classic.

Spotty (3.1.3) installs and runs fine (no errors in server.log, using
the legacy helper plugin). I can browse from the Squeezebox just fine,
but when I try to play a track I get either no sound (if I have Volume
Adjustment enabled) or some popping and crackling (if I disable Volume
Adjustment). In the latter case, the popping stops when I pause the
track. Other sound sources from LMS (local audio files, internet radio
streams) play correctly on my player, so the audio is working.

I've tried it with different bit rates, but no change in behavior.

Possibly relevant: this version of Raspbian is fairly old, and when I
try to run 'apt-get update' I get an error about not being able to
update libavcodec53. (The version I have installed is 6:0.8.17-2 and
the update would be 6:0.8.21-0.)

I'm guessing / hoping that this is something simple like a missing
codec, but not sure where to go from here. Thanks for any pointers!
