I'm hearing sounds differences in between CastBRidge and UPNP Bridge. I'll give you some background and maybe you can help me understand what I am hearing.
My setup: Daphile server (LMS 7.9.2), Material Skin controller, streaming to a Naim Muso-2 (wired connection) I first streamed to the Muso-2 using the UPNP Bridge plugin. Works flawlessly and sounds great. I've had that set up since I got the Muso 8 months ago. I few weeks ago I tried the CastBridge plugin just on a lark. The first thing I noticed was that using CastBridge the sound level was lower than when I use the UPNP Bridge. I set the listening level 50% UPNP to 60% using CastBridge. Then I immediately started to notice some nuances in the music itself. The CastBridge has less edge to the music and seemed less bright and even less fatiguing after longer listening sessions. I've come to prefer the sound more than the UPNP stream. This surprised me. I did not come to his decision overnight. It's been a few weeks of back and forth. Can someone explain to me what and why I am hearing this difference? Any rational explanations? Here are some tracks I played today all streamed from Qobuz.
