Here are some "fresh" log-files with V4.0.6 and NOT set the new option. New logs start at 07:38. Everything works the same as with the new option set. I'm able to walk through menu on Squeezebox-Server-Website. If I choose a song from my playlist and start playing on squeezebox radio it takes up to a minute until the songs starts. At 08:02:11 I added a second song to playlist.
