Just re-joining the world. Gald you got MIP going.

A few tips:

Although MIP claims to be UTF-8 aware, it does not seem to cover the
whole character set. This gave me a lot of grief as I name files
acording to their metadataAs a result it's really picky about file names
(it does not look at metadata at all, and only writes to couple of ID3v2
fields). This gave me a lot of grief as I named files acording to their
metadata using UTF-8 look-alikes for illegal NTFS filesystem characters
.
MIP also seems to have a limit on how many files (definitively <15,000)
it can process at once. For those reasons it's better to use MIP Mixer
over the headless server's Web UI as it allows selection of a bunch of
files and processing just those. It worked well for the types of files I
have (flac, mp3, and ogg).
Although I read about people successfully fingerprinting NAS located
files, for me (Win10 <> 1GB Intel cards <> ZFS NAS) the program kept
timing out on too many files for that setup to be considered reliable.
It's fine to have the files already analyzed on a LAN (I 'rsync' them
and then point MIP Server at the location and do a 'Refresh'... it takes
about an hour). BTW, on a low power I7 (3770M) it takes on average 1
minute/file to analyze/fingerprint.
