I didn't add it as it's already there: Server Settings / Formatting / Title formats. There's even a link on the MIS settings page ;-) > What if MusicInfo understood more complex format strings like > 2:PLAYING (X_OF_Y);3:ARTIST;3:ALBUM;2:RATING I'd like to keep the configuration simple for those who want a simple set up (you know what I mean :-/). In the latest version (trunk only) there's some kind of visual layout editor. As I mentioned earlier in this thread I'd rather have a general layout editor where you can set up and save as many configurations as you like. In the second part you'd probably select the different layouts and define the delays you'd want them to be displayed. > You could add such logic to MusicInfo without altering the web UI, but > I think it'd be much better to use HTML text input controls to make > reconfiguring easier. It's the Windows vs. Shell kind of discussion: some prefer visual configuration, others like the liberty and efficiency of text-only input - and both claim their UI of choice to be more intuitive and user friendly. While I've always got a bash open even on my Windows system (because many things are so much quicker than in a GUI), we're talking about a consumer product here. I don't want to have to explain users the syntax of the configuration. I'm sorry. BTW: SlimServer 7.0 will store plugin specific preferences in their own files. You'll then be able to use vi or sed to edit the MIS configuration without messing with the server settings ;-). -- Michael ----------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.herger.net/SlimCD - your SlimServer on a CD http://www.herger.net/slim - AlbumReview, Biography, MusicInfoSCR _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
