All the BBC sound stream are 48kHz - so they all have the same sample
rate. Most Sounds programs play OK.   So perhaps problem could be in one
place sample rate has been supplied by Sounds - however a full log will
help.

Please copy log in full from request to play to  about 10 secs after
failure.  Sometimes is the message that are not present than show the
problem and also order of message logged are not necessarily how they
are executed.
