Thanks for pointing out Home Assistant - sounds interesting, even for only 
using it to forward the devices to HomeKit.

Yes - Material is very nice (actually great!). It is just that I am so used to 
using iPeng, that I prefer it at the moment.

In general, Siri is not necessary. But in the kitchen, it would be great!

Your usage scenario sounds like it is working perfectly. But when you add Apple 
Music to it (and you see the possibilities to include other music streaming 
services in LMS), LMS is kind of missing that integration.

I think I will give Home Assistant a try and see if it is superior to 
Homebridge / HOOBS which I am using at the moment.
