Your LMS is way out of date! You need to get a Raspberry Pi, install piCorePlayer then add LMS, mount the Synology share for music files.
If you look in Linux / Unix you will find plenty of help on how to do this. iPeng will happily play FLAC to 24/96 with a Dragonfly with an upto date LMS Onkyo HF is simply playing the file.
