There does appear to be a problem with slimserver "No Album". I started a
thread in the beta forum a few days ago about "No Album" appearing within
"Various Artists". I does appear that slimserver now threats songs that have
an artist but not an album tag as being part of a compilation.
I wasn't too bothered, as I still had a "No Album" for the specific artists;
the Various Artists No Album was an extra.
However, I have recently done a full rescan and a couple of "look for new and
updated music" rescans, and now I can't see "Albums/No Album". I have two
Artists/Various Artists/No Album, both only containing a small set of songs
that I recently updated the tags within (year tags). I think one No Album was
for the first rescan, and the second No Album for the second rescan.
I have navigated to an artist that I was expecting some "No Album" songs for,
and I don't see the "No Album". If I click on the artists "All Songs", I can
see all of the singles listed in there. If I bring up the song info for one of
them, it shows the Album tag as blank.
I believe I have reported the same issue in the past ("No Album" appearing as
blank, and additional "No Album" entries being created due to "look for new and
changed music"), but I haven't seen this happen for a while.
