I don't know anything about kernel streaming. By default SLX does not
show you [Windows WDM-KS] devices because I could never get it to work.
When I select it, I get no volume control, jut 100% volume. But just in
case, SLX will allow you to enable KS devices in the Advanced/Debug
settings.
I don't recall seeing the "squeezelite aborted" message when I try this,
but I can tell you what causes that. When SLX starts the squeezelite
player software, it will confirm that the player starts, stays running,
and connects to the server. If the squeezelite player starts, it may
abort. This can be caused by incorrect squeezelite parameters.
Generally, you would not see cause unless you have manually configured
advanced parameters. And while incorrect parameters are usually the
cause, that is not certain. But, for whatever reason, squeezelite has
aborted shortly after starting up. One thing you might try is
experimenting with the squeezelite executable separately using the
command line and see what error message it displays.
Just out of curiosity, what is the benefit of kernel streaming anyway?
