Well I checked the ports on the Norton Firewall, and I had made a mistake so corrected that.
Tried the Telenet thing which pulled up a black screen said something like "connecting to yourserver" and then went blank. In regards to password etc. Are there standard settings for this because I don't rememember setting any username/password when I set up Slimserver?
