I've managed to do a complete export of stats from trackstat into iTunes, so step 1 is complete.
I also used your suggested tool for updating iTunes music library - worked well, thanks. So, I've been looking into passing updates into iTunes, and I think I've discounted the possibility of using iTunesUpdate plugin. I run SlimServer as a windows service, and it can't talk to iTunes :-( Also, the machine is used with multiple accounts, so like you say I will probably run into problems there too. So, I may try to to set up TrackStat to write updates to the .txt file, and have a periodic job that sends these updates into iTunes. I do still rate music from iTunes. Generally, I try to sync unrated/unplayed songs to my iPod, and rate the music there. Another smart playlist keeps high-rated songs on the iPod. So I would like to sync iTunes ratings back to SlimServer too. I think this will generally be okay, as I will only be rating previously unrated tracks, and if I have rated these in SlimServer, I'd probably have selected the same rating anyway. Unrated songs in iTunes will not affect rated songs in SlimServer, I gather?
