Yes, the three versions I mentioned are named mplayer_intel, mplayer_ppc and mplayer_noaltivec. So for an Intel machine, just take mplayer_intel, put it in the right place, and rename it to mplayer. As bpa says, if you can make the executables accessible that would be helpful.
