Thanks for the suggestions, bpa. In order: 1. I've checked that mplayer.sh is executable. It has permissions of 755. 2. After using chroot to move into the slimserver system, navigating to /opt/mplayer/bin, mplayer comes up with the help text if I execute ./mplayer from the shell. 3. I disabled RTSP-FLAC (RTSP-MP3 was already disabled on account of lame not working properly on the TS-109). I found exactly the same error in the log as before.
>From another, non-chroot shell, I tried invoking mplayer from the actual path of the binary, viz. /share/HDA_DATA/etch/opt/mplayer/bin/mplayer and was greeted with a "no such file or directory" error, which I can't quite understand. Any further ideas gratefully received.
