The messages: mplayer: could not connect to socket mplayer: No such file or directory
often (always?) appear in the log after mplayer starts(even when it successfully plays the file. Not sure what the errors mean. I download several files a week and have around 13GB of .ra files which I assume would grow substantially if I convert to .flac, .mp3 would be an option but takes time. The plugin should play the .ra files and it seemed worth pursuing what causes the error on my system. Incidentally, if I use the BBC 'listen again' service via the plugin and stream/listen (to the .ra file) it stops playing the after 5-10 mins and I thought I might fix both problems at the same time. Listening on a pc with mplayer classic works fine so I assume it is a local problem. Thanks for your suggestions.
