Ok, I did a fresh install of FreeNAS (686.3) and downloaded the official release of squeezecenter (squeezecenter-7.0-noCPAN.tgz) and downloaded Michaels latest SLIMNAS (99) earlier today. It installs fine but will not run or start. I see no perl process in the process list. I have tried changing the squeezecenter directory folder to a simple sqeezecenter without the CPAN extention etc., but when I do that the FreeNAS squeezecenter page states that it is not installed. The only thing that i have done which might be out of the ordinary is when i created the FreeNAS share I use a local sfraser userid and parrotnet group name?
I am not that familier with Unix (yet!), and have been trying to follow this thread, but got lost in the process. I would appreciate it if anyone had any suggestions and or explanations! P.S I have had earlier versions working including a beta version of 7.0, but had to expand the files on my Ubuntu workstation and then move them over to the freeNAS directory. This does not seem to be required, because the files seem to be there in expanded form after the freeNAS install. Thanks and Happy Easter ..if your so inclined. Scott -- sfraser 2 Chan.
