This is what is supposed to happen when you start a LastFM scan in the
SqueezeCenter Settings/Custom Scan section.

1. It will retreive all artists in the SqueezeCenter database
2. It will remove all artists previously scanned from the list
3. It will iterate through the remaining list and for each artist:
- Retreive similar artist data
- Wait for a second
- Retreive image data
- Wait for a second
- Retreive top tags for artist
- Store the information
4. After step 3 has been repeated for all artists in the list the
scanning is marked at completed.

If you abort a scan in the middle the already scanned artists will be
removed from the list in step 2 when you perform a scanning next time.
In case you hit the "Clear" link before a scanning is started, no
artists will be removed from the list in step 2.

The approximate time for scanning the whole library should be about 3
seconds * number of artists, it will take a lot longer if you are
trying to play music simultaneously.

The "wait" operations are required due to LastFM licensing, third party
users isn't allowed to call the LastFM service more often than once a
second. SqueezeCenter won't be able to do anything else while scaning
an artist in step 3, the result is that SqueezeCenter will be pretty
unusable during the scanning. Unfortunately there is no easy solution
to this with the current design of the plugin.

The CPU usage during scanning should be very low, at least it is on my
machine, so if it is using 70% CPU you are either using slow hardware
(which isn't the case for Club1820) or something is not working as it
should. But please note that even if the CPU usage is low,
SqueezeCenter will still be pretty unusable during scanning due to
above mentioned "wait" operations.

The only reason I can see is if it behaves differently on Linux and
Windows, I'm using Linux and if I've understand it correctly you are
both using Windows. I currently don't have a Windows setup with
SqueezeCenter, so it will take a few days until I can test this.

If anyone else is reading this and has been using SqueezeCenter and the
Custom Scan LastFM scanning module on Windows and it works correctly,
please let me know.
