2nd update: I did a fresh install of SC7.1 on my Mac and now this works fine. I shut down SC, removed anything called "SqueezeCenter" under /Library/PreferencePanes", "<user>/Library/Caches", "<user>/Library/Application Support" and then reinstalled SC. May be worth a try.
