If you have musicbrainz tags in your music it won't even be reset if you move/rename files.
The same can also be said about standard SqueezeCenter 7.1 or later, but I'm not sure if that will be able to avoid resets if you are using the iTunes or MusicIP scanning integration built into SqueezeCenter. TrackStat also makes it possible to export all ratings to a text XML file which can be restored at a later time, this is useful during SqueezeCenter re-installs which may discard the whole database. With some clever scripting I suspect it would be possible to transform the backup textfile into a script using the flac tools to write ratings to the actual files. It should also be noted that the only way to get SqueezeCenter to understand rating tags in the files themselves at the moment is using the RatingTag scanning module provided with the Custom Scan plugin. The problem with ratings in tags is that there are no real standard of how to store them, so SqueezeCenter interprets them one way, Windows Media Player a second and Media Monkey a third. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) 'My download page' (http://erland.isaksson.info/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50697 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
