Had another play with windows encoder and couldn't play it in any
logitech kit.

Played with the server health stuff - very interesting - not spotted
this option before! The network tests all were 100%. The server stats
looked good - though the odd item on timer lateness was a bit worrying.
There was 2% in the 5 seconds late category. This was done whilst
streaming icecast cd player to softsqueeze. However other than the
problem with wave input I perceive it as working perfectly so - won't
follow it up for now.

Final plan. I have configured icecast and edcast to stream via 320k mp3
and that seems to work fine and doesn't impact on normal streaming that
I can tell. Just need to install edcast as a service and then I'm
there. I have noticed 1 glitch in sound during half an hour of playing.
Since I would only use the real CD player for a borrowed CD that hasn't
been ripped to the server - I am happy with that. My wife is perfectly
happy with the sound from her laptop speakers so she isn't too bothered
about quality!

Cheers and thanks again for being so patient.
