I have now done some fairly detailed testing and would appreciate any feedback. On the same hardware (tranquil WHS to duet and transporters and softsqueeze) I installed icecast and edcast to stream the cd player as ogg flac. It streamed faultlessly to my xp pc with vlc - though I didn't manage to get it decoding in any of the logitech kit - transporter complained of the file format. I turned on logging warnings on streaming and plugin wavin - plenty of jumps and glitches but no warnings or errors except for the open stream warnings as the stream started. I then went back to wavein conf and deleted all the lines except the mp3 one. The quality is absolutely unbearable - but it streams without jumps or skips perfectly. I will try and get it streaming a bearable quality mp3 stream (if there is such a thing) and see if it can do that with out jumping. Any comments welcome - I'd really like to get this working.
