I'm assuming your problem is with the Alien 2.4a2 on Windows? If not please delete and use the "Extension Downloader" (found under Settings - Advanced" to download AlienBBC.
For windows, this downloads mplayer the first time it starts and can take 2-5 mins to do this. There is a new section on the AlienBBC Settings page which shows the status of mplayer which should show it is downloading during this time. Once it has downloaded, there is a "test" link which can launch mplayer in a new window to test that it is installed ok. I had hoped to put some more instructions up on the Alien web site before 7.3, but did not manage it.
