Yellow Banana, While testing WaveInput for 7.3 - for a while I had the exact same symptoms as your bug. Unfortunately they went away before I tracked them down but they are related to the output of wavin2cmd not being read.
I think they could be due to something blocking the socketwrapper app which is used by WaveInput.
