I can't really be sure but I think I had the same problem, with 
temperature reported from wunderground.com. It worked fine for me for a 
long time, but about a month or so ago it started showing the wrong 
temperature - nothing else had changed (same plugin version and 
configuration etc).

My solution, which seems to work, is to configure the display to be in 
Fahrenheit rather than Celsius, ie use "%e" instead of "%E" in your 
player display format string. For me, at least, this does then report 
the correct temperature in Celcius(!). Don't ask me why, but it worked 
for me.
