Ah ok the default setting for "power on resume" is .. remained paused at power on.
which means that the playlist moves to the assigned player, but it wont start to play you have to press play on that player, which also means that you have to choose another player to do that. The workaround is to set "power on resume" to ... resume at power on. This makes the play list to immediately start playing on that player. and you can start and stop playback at that player with your on/off setting, without the need to choose another player. What i mean if you ad play/pause to the interface you can have both options at the same time.
